struggling with sales on maintenance visits

Hey Everybody,

i’m looking for advice on boosting my sales on maintenance visits. I don’t ever want to sell things that people don’t need or want, but I work with a guy that seems to walk away from every maintenance visit with an invoice for a new thermostat, filter upgrades, ac cover, etc. My company offers spiffs and bonus pay when our numbers are good… I have a hard time talking to people about IAQ and other stuff. I always feel like a salesman..

any advice on how to sell more without feeling cheesy or slimy?
